What is Finding Your Sunshine: A Path To Indigenous Love?
VISION
The vision of "Finding Your Sunshine: A Path to Indigenous Love" is a conference that aims to provide Indigenous people in Canada with access to mental health advocates and therapists, with a focus on supporting their mental well-being. Our approach involves creating a space where therapy is presented in a way that resonates with everyone – through the lens of love.
We will be hosting discussions led by top therapists, psychologists, and relationship experts, covering various aspects of love including self-love, relationship dynamics, familial bonds, romantic connections, and healthy sexuality.
Our conference is a transformative space where Indigenous individuals and communities come together to reclaim traditional ways of being, restore spiritual connections, and foster mental wellness through love and support. We celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous peoples, integrating traditional practices and contemporary mental health approaches to create a holistic healing experience.
1. Cultural Authenticity: We prioritize authenticity by highlighting Indigenous knowledge, practices, and voices, ensuring that our programming reflects the diverse cultures of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
2. Holistic Healing: Our conference embraces a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, and community. We promote traditional healing methods alongside modern mental health strategies.
3. Community Focus: We emphasize community engagement and collaboration, creating a supportive environment where attendees can share their stories, learn from one another, and build lasting connections rooted in love and understanding.
4. Empowerment Through Education: Our goal is to empower attendees with knowledge and resources that honor their cultural identity, enhance mental wellness, and advocate for better support systems within Indigenous communities.
5. Love as a Central Theme: Love is at the heart of our conference. We believe that healing begins with love—love for oneself, love for one’s culture, and love for the community. This theme is woven throughout all aspects of the event.
6. Inclusivity and Accessibility: We aim to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all attendees, regardless of their background or experience with mental health, ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and valued.
